Our Director | Dr. Samuel R. Germany, Jr.
Dr Germany has been a Cedar Valley College (CVC) music facility member since 1981, a recipient of various teaching awards, and is a 2007 Minnie Stevens Piper Professor for the state of Texas. Sam's work as a director spans over 30 years and includes over 60 stage productions, including all the Family Music Theatre (FMT) productions. Sam teaches private voice and is an accomplished keyboardist and vocalist. He serves as rehearsal and performance accompanist for FMT productions. Sam is grateful for his wonderful family: wife Teri and two sons, Brandon, and Samuel, and the newest addition to the Germany clan, daughter-in-law Angela!
Our Technical Director | Dee Longino
Dee is a Information Technology Teacher at Newman International Academy in Cedar Hill. She is the former Director of Information Technology for Southwest Transplant Alliance, one of the three CMS-designated non-profit agencies serving the needs of Texans to save and improve lives though organ donation. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a a Bachelors of Information Technology and a Masters Degree of Education in Instructional Technologies with a perfect 4.0. Dee is the longest-tenured of Dr. Germany's staff, having devoted her time and expertise to Family Music Theatre since its inception.
Our Choreographer | Stacia Woodlan
Stacia has an extensive background of dance training, teaching and choreographing dating back to age 6. In 1987, she opens her studio Stacia's School of Dance where she teaches dance. She is also on staff as an adjunct instructor at Cedar Valley College teaching dance appreciation and jazz dance classes. Stacia si married to an amazing man, Mr. Donnie, and is the mother of two - Michael, a percussion graduate of TCU with Master's Degree from the Royal Academy of Music in London, and McKenna, who is a Sophomore at Ryder University where she is studying Musical Theatre.
Our Stage Manager | David Johns
David is an incredible Stage Manager always at the ready! Besides keeping our Family Music Theatre shows running smoothly from before auditions thought the final set teardown for almost every show since "The Scarlet Pimpernel," he has also been on stage for a few productions. When he isn't at the theatre, David attends UTA working on finishing his Business Management degree, and is the office manager for a local reality office. David is married to his wonderful wife, Cheryle, and has very inquisitive son Michael. David is grateful to God for all His blessings.
Our Props Master | David Curry
Mr. Curry first appears on the Family Music Theatre in the production of "The Phantom of the Opera" where he portrayed the role of Phantom. He has appeared in many other Family Music Theatre productions including his leading role as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables". Mr Curry is an honors graduate of Harvard University, and has preformed since the age of six with the Dallas Summer Musicals, Garland Summer Musicals, Dallas Repertory Theatre, Theatre Arlington, Gowntown Theatre, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma City, and Regal Players of Boston, among others.
Queen of Ushers | Debbi Smelser
Debbi has been married for 34 years to as she says her wonderful husband, Keith Smelser. The first show that she attended at FMT was Swinging with the Big Band II in 2001. This was when Keith began playing in the FMT pit band. She began ushering for FMT in 2009 as the special needs usher and in 2011 became the "Queen of Ushers". She enjoys traveling, and game nights with friends, and her favorite musical of all time is Wicked. FMT has become an integral part of here life, and she can’t imagine doing anything else that I would enjoy as much.
